Margo, Margot, Margaux!

A trendy baby name among the people often called "name snobs" is Margot. At only #944 on the US Social Security popularity list, it is a pretty uncommon name, though everyone has most likely heard of it. It's a lovely vintage choice, a diminutive of Margaret, meaning Pearl.

A dilemma any parent considering the name would run into is spelling choice! While Margo and Margaux are not ranked on the SS popularity list (and Margot is), they both have rich history and are worth considering. Love for the name is growing. Vintage is trendy these days, and Margot is ready for her revival!

Would you ever consider Margot for your daughter? What spelling would you choose? What name would you pair with it, and would it be a first name or a middle name?

  1. Maybe. I would choose Margot, probably as a first name but if I can find a good name for it to be a middle then I could do that as well.

    Also nice blog :)

  2. If I did use any of these names then it would be Margo. I have had a soft spot for Margo since Despicable Me came out. :)

I really like your blog btw. Never stop posting!
